Subject: cheap screening routers -

At DEC I used to build all my routers from MicroVAXIIs running
ULTRIX and screend. Even a lowly MicroVAX with 4mb of memory running
ULTRIX, gated, screend, and syslogd could keep up pretty well. It
imposed about a 2ms routing delay ether to ether, but I could and did
live with that. Talk about cheap hardware. :) At least at DEC there were
folks whose eyes would light up when I asked if they wanted to donate
a MicroVAX... :)
