	 Best implementation of this idea I've seen is in Pyramid's OSx where
	 it keeps track of where your last failed login was and the number of
	 failures since the last success.  When you successfully login next,
	 it informs you of the last failure (if since a success).  Not at all
	 perfect, but better than what most other versions of login will tell
	 you.

Gee -- sounds like what Multics did.  Of course, I last used Multics
around 1976, and lots of its good ideas (but alas, few of its bad ones)
have been forgotten since then...
