Hi,
this was the statement of the vendor. Let me confirm this:
although my non understanding management did not allow to purchase 
those, they are the only ones with real filtering capabilities for 
sourced, in/out, forwarding, per interface, you name it. Filtering 
is on routing and bridging level and allows for much more filtering 
functionality than Cisco's stupid sequential lists that cannot even 
be edited, only rewritten.
A vitalink router as port to the internet is probably the most 
elegant and cost effective firewall solution.
