in the past there were some (relatively well publicised) security holes in SCO 
systems.  all of the known ones have now been plugged.  if you are using odt 
3.0 (or it's constituent parts) then there are no  outstanding problems.

you are right to be using some form of wrapper on your interfaces.  i added 
the `humorous' comment to avoid appearing fatuous in saying that it was no 
better or worse, as SCO has taken some flack for it's TCP over the past few 
years.
