I've developed some relatively simple (for sendmail!) examples in the book:
Carl-Mitchell, Smoot and John S. Quarterman, Practical
Internetworking with TCP/IP and UNIX, Addison-Wesley,
Reading, MA, 1993. ISBN 0-201-58629-0.
The configuration examples are all online in ftp.tic.com:/pub/cf.pn.tar.Z
I do nothave anything that is specifically for a firewall bastion host,
but I do have examples for forwarding all mail through a mail gateway.
