The activity was at our New Delhi, India office, and they were watching
real-time commentary of the India-Pakistan cricket test match. I had been
tolerating the previous occasional use of IRC as there was only one user
and the pattern was consistent. This incident made its use more widespread
and inbound IP connections to high port numbers can't be distinguished from
people setting up telnet daemons on high port numbers.
Many thanks to the person who suggested zapping ports 6667 and 194, it
seems to have done the trick.
I'm not so worried about our users fooling around on the Internet, I'm
worried about the Internet fooling around with our users.
