We use xforward to send Mosaic displays through our firewall, as Kurt
Beernink suggested. You don't get audio, your movies may be jumpy or
slow, and downloaded files end up on the Mosaic Host instead of your
local machine. If the machine you want to see Mosaic windows on is
a Mac or PC, you need X server software, which is not cheap. Despite
these limitations, getting a window on the Web is a lot better than
nothing. For some, this is a good trade-off between functionality and
security.
We have users who are not satisfied with this solution, however, so we
are looking into a SOCKS based alternative.
