# I strongly recommend getting some firm grounding from the pros
# unless your ego convinces you you can handle the ramifactions of
# a poor home grown installation...
#
# My company started out with a primer from Brent Chapman
# (info @
 greatcircle .
com) which got us understanding the different
# issues surrounding firewalls and security in general... His course
# also did some basic IP protocol theory which was interesting
# as well... Brent can customize a course for you I'm sure...

Thanks for the recommendation, Matt!

Anyone who is interested in the tutorial should send email to
"Tutorial-Info @
 GreatCircle .
COM". You'll get back an automatic response
with a description of the tutorial and a schedule and registration form
for upcoming public presentations of the tutorial. Private in-house
presentations of the tutorial (with emphasis customized to suit your
interests and environment) are also available; please contact me for
information and pricing.

A number of folks have written with the impression that the "primer"
Matt mentions is a book or paper of some sort. It's not; he was referring
to the tutorial. We do not make the tutorial notebook (which is about
200 pages long, and includes copies of the tutorial overheads, plus a
collection of key firewalls papers) available seperately, outside of
the tutorial.

Thanks!

-Brent
