I'm looking at establishing a secure firewall for a 128K link, which
would allow
certain outgoing connections but would disallow incoming requests for services.
The services I would like to provide include most things accessible to Mosaic.
Though I will leave the issue of securing particular services and the
clients to a
later date, and [attempt to] avoid enabling insecure services.
I may be being overly paranoid, but I really want to put an additional filter
on the outside of the firewall.
I have a limited budget and the current idea is for a dual homed firewall with
proxies for outgoing services and an old PC running pcroute or a hacked
pcbridge as an external filter.
While I would like an internal filter as well, unless I can dual use
the external filter
I doubt the budget will stretch to it,
All (well meaning) comments appreciated ?
thanks
