I haven't had any experience with filters failing to work once
installed. However, the Netblazer commands to add filters are buggy
and interact in weird ways. Adding a "permit" filter when a host
already has a partial "deny" filter might change the deny into a
permit. I have also managed to create a filter configuration that it
would save incorrectly -- when I save and reboot, it changes my
"default permit" into a "default deny".
It took me three weeks of arguing via email and getting told by tech support
that I just wasn't doing things correctly before they acknowledged that
these were bugs. It's been months, and I haven't heard anything back
about the "Modification Requests" that they opened for me on the
filtering bugs. I would heartily reccomend against using the Netblazer
in any situation where IP filtering is a big part of its job.
