If you think of the firewalls list as a garden, you might want
to plant some nice new thoughts for discussion. The weeds
seem to be flourishing.
One person happened to post one message from his root
account, and dozens of people felt the need to respond
by criticising the use of the root account and its
alternatives.
One person who doesn't remember the McCarthy debacle
suggested blacklisting and suddenly that generates a
flood of traffic.
How about a new thread about setting up internal and external
bind servers, or specifics of experiences with certain kinds of
attacks and strategies both successful and unsuccessful.
