Of course, but these poor folks who ended up on the list apparently while
they were under control of demons, don't read the list and didn't read
what they got when they subscribed.

Wouldn't help, I claim. The issue is cutting down on annoyances from
the non-literate, either deliberate or hapless. Majordomo already does
an excellent job of this, or the level of misplaced administrivia
would be far worse. I merely suggest widening the net a little, not
that administrative requests *should* be sent to the list.
