We are building a private network connecting several dozen sites (and
several thousand users) located around the world. We would like to provide
Internet access for all sites by operating some number of firewalls,
installed at appropriate points in the network. We're trying to estimate
the number of firewalls needed and the right places to put them. Can anyone
offer some help in how to go about this? For example, what factors would
influence the number and location of firewalls? Can someone refer us to
existing organizations that have implemented similar systems? Thanks.
