I don't know of any ms/mac based scanners, although I'd like to hear of
any. You could run unix (maybe free BSD or linux) on a partition.
However, real-time scanning isn't likely to get you much, unless their
machine is really broken - scanning typically takes a fair bit of time.
It's much more effective to get the attendance list beforehand and do it
in advance. Putting up some slides or results of a scanner/security
tool can be pretty cool if it's the machine of the person hosting the
talk or something (assuming you have the ok, 'natch), or merely some
simple stats.
