Instead of quoting the whole thing, I just wanted to add some comments...

Xing, according to someone on the list, is developing/has developed a 
proxy for it's clients.

Also, I can't believe that someone said that their fw admin should "just 
open up" those ports!  At the very least it should be treated like an 
M-Bone connection, where you do NOT accept any packets unless they are 
requested by that specific machine (source address based, from the 
inside).  

The applications for stream works that I've seen so far are the usual... 
KBEAR radio broadcasts, and others, we were even talking to R.E.M. about 
broadcasting via stream works.  Some companies are using it as off site 
video training, and various other applications along those lines.  I 
don't know how well the proxy for Stream Works works though...
