The pcmcia 3c589's work like a charm.  I've got an NEC Versa P/75 with
two 3c589's that I carry around for dual lan sniffing and firewalling.
Works very well after a little tweaking in /etc/pcmcia/network for
dual card insertion/removal.  I've not had the need to
test the throughput but I will if requested.
