While we are in the spirit of advertising, I'd like to say a few words
about a fine automobile I just happen to have for sale. Its a beautiful
1969 Buick Electra 225 4 door. It doesn't run, but it could!
Seriously, this group seems to have been getting a lot of advertising lately.
I don't subscribe to this group to read advertising. If I were a
potential customer, I think I would be a lot more interested in vendors
that provided some technical insight in this forum rather than muddled
marketing-speak. Such action on the part of the vendor would tell me
that here was a vendor interested in providing solutions rahter than
selling me the newest product.
For the vendors: Your market-speak is easy to spot, and as I scan
messages if I find that the mail matches the classic pattern of an
advertisment, I delete it without reading it. In other words, save your
energy and don't post your ads. Have your technical people provide
insight instead. Actions speak louder than words.
