I am working on basically the same problem..
We are using Linux for our "firewalls" (Uses firewall "machanics", like
FWTK and SOCKS but do not need that much IP security sounds like a
contradiction..:=)
So, when we wanted to implement IPX between two of the systems with
Internet as the carrier I found a program called ipxtunnel that relays
ipx over IP using UDP.
This program runs on the "firewall" and it is initiated from the behind
when needed.
We got all that working, but I feel that running IPX packages over the
net without any cryptation is a bit too dangerous (we also use it for
remote maintenance) so I am working on implementing DES to the stream.
But, my programming skills are a bit, ehh, rusty, so it takes some time
to do it. I am using the newdes2 package. Right now it compiles but won't
encrypt or decrypt properly..
ipxtunnel was made by Andreas Godzina and I have done a few patches to it
for making it work with a real novell connection.
This may be a solution for it..
