I'm trying to find the first published reference of a secure Internet gateway
as a Firewall. The earliest I have so far is May, 1991. Ches' paper - The
Design of a Secure Internet Gateway, 1990 USENIX Summer Conference - does not
mention the term firewall (although it does mention a proxy).
Send me your references and I'll summarize to the list.
