Here is an excerpt of the home page I use on our internal Web server so I
can locate people using Netscape 2.x set up for mail:

When I get a message like this, I send the following message:

This message is a request to please stop using Netscape v2. There are several
severe security problems with it, one of which sent a message to me telling me
you are using the software. That hole would allow someone to write a web page
which, for instance, sends a message to <Corp. Pres.> telling him how rotten
of a manager he is (probably using a lot of four-letter words); since the
message came from you, what do you think <Pres.> would think?

Using this method, I have yet to have someone complain about not using Netscape
2.x. Best of luck to you...

If you upgraded to Netscape 1.2N prior to 12-Oct-95, you will need to adjust one proxy setting. The

hostname for the FTP proxy was mistakenly left to

read "inetgate.scitexdpi.com"; it should read

"www.scitexdpi.com". You will need to make this

correction to be able to access FTP sites from

Netscape. This setting can be found under the

Proxies tab of the Preferences

(Options/Preferences...).

If you have not yet upgraded to Netscape 1.2N, it

is recommended that you do so as soon as

possible, since that is the only version of Netscape

which is being supported. Installation instructions

SCITEX could use a document retrieval system such as this is also available.

A list of Registered Information Providers is available, along with instructions on how to be

part of the list.

Stan Rohrer's Subject Page contains lots of pointers to Internet resources.

Stan Rohrer is working on an <a href="http://server.scitexdpi.com:8000/";>experimental server which is being used to try out various options

and possibilities. Please be aware that, due to the nature of the server, it may not be up all the

time and may not be able to access external sites reliably.

Stan Rohrer has a Demo of some Internet related ideas for use at Scitex DPI .
