I have seen a demo of Xacct. In my view its major disadvantage is that
it can not give an accounting information on a per user basis. (In my
FW1 I use the user authentication feature, and I thought that a product
like Xacct, which is an add-on to the FW1, should have this ability).
What it CAN give you nicely is the protocol distribution of your
link utilization.
Q: Has anyone tried Netscape HTTP Proxy ver 2.0 ? It should have
the abilities I'm looking for, namely: User authentication (according
to an internal database) and also logging and accunting (each users
connection is logged including timestamp, user name, source,
destination,and amount of data transferred).
