A 286 _could_ IMHO do the job, but you would experience a drop in
performance which would be quite obvious and annoying. Especially
if you run a fast network with fast machines. I think you would
finance the cost of a faster machine simply by faster access to
the net for your employees.
A 100MHz pentium is cheap nowadays, and does the job just fine.
