Yes, u r right. But: modern linux and BSD Distributions dont require much
work to set them up. The Package filtering of the kernel is very flexibel,
and you will realy get a good solution for less money. You can plug 3
Ethernet Cards in an DX4-100 and have a good Filter. The same solution with
dedicaded hardware will cost about ten times of a PC solution. Much money to
spend some time in setting u the box. And if you dont have Experience with
routers you will spent the same time configring the routes access lists or
linux's firewall rules.
