I hope that you don't mean that the way you stated it. We do NOT need
applications code integrated into the operating system code. I thought
we had gotten rid of that with dinosaur computers! OS's need well-
defined, well-thought-out APIs (in your MS terms) that provide all of
the necessary services, including security. Applications need to
correctly use these interfaces. But there MUST be a well-defined
separation between them!
All I need ... some Netscape or Explorer guy doing something "neet" and
crashing the whole operating system when the inevitable error occurs
... grumble, grumble, grumble.
