100Mb thorugh a proxy firewall

A project that I am working on will require a firewall that can
get close to normal throughput on a 100 Mb link. I would appreciate
a recommendation on what sort of machine we will need for this. i.e
will a highly spec'd PC do it or do we need to go for something
with more grunt (and $). Thanks
