I've done this (no through a firewall) using the built-in setup.  I really
had no problem, and the sucker was FAST (T1 vs modem).

Don't remember how, though, and sorta doubt if the firewall is set up
for it.  A call to AOL technical support would probably answer the question.

And then post the instructions to the list.

Folks here do remember a telephone, right?
