I'm not really convinced about putting all the antivirus eggs in this
particular basket, anyway. Checking at your Internet gateway or thereabouts
inevitably introduces an overhead and can't detect boot sector infectors,
which still account for more common virus incidents than anything else
(though the Concept and Wazzu macro viruses are, apparently, now the
two most common viruses reported). Since you have to protect the desktop
anyway..... 

Do you happen to know where Checkpoint are getting their scanning
technology from?
