Subject: How secure is Firewall Toolkit?

I am about to install TIS's Firewall Toolkit on a Linux box.

Are there any known security holes and/or blindspots to worry about?

Are there better options for a firewall that I should be aware of?

I plan on taking my time on this so that I get it done right without any
big glaring holes.

Pointers to non-marketing hype-type information appreciated.
