Has anyone experience with the IPeXchange Gateway from Cisco?
We are using the IPX-IP Gateway IPeXchange from Cisco to offer Internet
access to our (mostly) cablemodem users because of security and that
only one single IP-Adress is necessary.
The users are not only from our own company, so we NEED to log the
gateway-accesses.
The Client Gateway starts if a TCP/IP application is started and the
Gateway exits after closing this application.
This can be done WITHOUT Login to the Novell-Netware Server, so
you don't need new Novell user-licenses , but in the logging there is
then only an entry for a user called ANYBODY.
Is there a possibility to log these accesses with the clients ethernet
card node address?
We tried other Gateways like NOVIX, JSB, and the Demo from Novells
Intranetware, but we had always the same problem with these gateways:
Connections from the client to the local webserver and to the proxy
over IPX-IP Gateway with high transferrates are always broken, the
IPX-IP Gateway hangs because of the high performance.
Or the gateway-software slows down the performance. (only 16bit version
available, ...)
The NOVIX Software had excellent logging possibilities, but because
of low performance it is not usable.
The IPeXchange Gateway is the only one that offers a stable high
performance gateway, but I can't find a possibility to clearly log the
clients if they aren't logged into Novell Netware.
So if anybody had experience with that or can give me an advice for
another software or how to do that, I would appriciate...
