It uses straight TCP for everything. We have plug-gw set up on 1354/TCP
from our Unix bastion to the Notes server. External clients need to be
explicitly told that your Notes server's IP address is really that of
the bastion in the local Name and Address books, as Notes verifies the
connection otherwise and then tries to connect to the real server IP.
If you have Notes4 servers, then you can set up an external one as a
pass-through server/web-server which does much the same thing.
