This thread has been going on for a while so I had some time to review our support data. We install about three firewalls a week with about a 50:50 mix of UNIX to NT. Our installers have backgrounds in both UNIX and NT. It appears that the probablity of getting a call-back by the customer is three times more likely with NT. I reviewed the data to see whether the problems were related to installation or product. Almost all the problems were product related or customer networking related.

When I talked to the installers an additional fact appeared. Installation at NT sites was almost always more of a problem. According to the installers (in general) UNIX sites understand networking better than NT sites and the NT installation problems are associated with networking problems not firewall host installation.
