It can have its advantages.  The Checkpoint 1 software can offer 
significant improvement to the packet filtering capabilities of a 
router that is serving the role of a screening router on the 
perimeter.

At the risk of causing undue discussion, though, I still feel obliged 
to point out that this should be in conjunction with a real proxy 
host.  I have my inate paranoia to protect 8^).
