I have also been unable to get Tripwire-1.2 to run under
Slackware-3.1, Linux 2.0.x.  Works on very small file hierarchies
but seg faults (I think) on realistically-sized file hierarchies.
Haven't had time to analyze.

My workaround has been to use an old a.out copy compiled
under Slackware 2.3, Linux 1.3.57.
