for a CNET story ( "MS actively defends ActiveX" ) about Microsoft
setting up a Web site ( http://www.microsoft.com/security/ )
called the "Web Executable Security Advisor" to discuss the
dangers of downloading anonymous executable content of any kind
(including Java applets). The MS move is purportedly in response
to the German hacker ActiveX control which set up account fund
transactions in Quicken on the local client machine
(presumably Windows PC).
