Check out FastCGI (http://www.fastcgi.com) it can have the fcgi
client outside the firewall and the fcgi server on the inside.
The server is feed from the client fcgi only the standard cgi stuff
and only accept connections from the web server.  I think it is the
best of both worlds.  It is also wicked fast!

Anyone know of any risk using this method?
