Might actually be able to do this with some mosfet switch packages. I remember seeing a schematic for video switching using such devices. They can be assembled in a 'make-before-break' configuration. They would be electrically controllable ie, either physical switches or a PC parallel port could be used.

Sorry, I don't have any better info than this. I think the original article referred to an RCA DIP package with four mosfets on it. This was a while ago. I would assume if such products are still around that more sources would be available and more switches would be in one package.

Subject:	Hardware Ethernet Drawbridge

Not too long ago I attended a security presenation where the guy
was talking about an "L Shaped" hardware device that acted
something like a monitor switch. In other words, when in one
position, two networks were connected, and in the other
another 2 were connected.

I'm looking for a product like this, preferably with some
programability. In other words, I'd like to be able to set
up a schedule for switching.

Can anyone point me in the direction of one of these products?

Please note that I am looking for a HARDWARE solution that
PHYSICALLY makes and breaks Ethernet connections.

I appreciate any input!

Mike
