Prehaps if you were more specific to your system setup, and the problem
itself, we could be helpful. Considering that with the information you
provided there leaves much to be known in the nature of the problem...
What version of the linux kernel? Are you sure the ethernet card is
responding properly? What proxy software are you useing? What kind of
network setup do you have? That's a start.. atleast.
