Use an automated key distribution tool for automated key distribution. The
PGP web of trust could easily be used for anything short of automated
transparent encryption a-la Netscape's "https" stuff.

When the D-H patent expires the session key distribution will, I suspect,
just fall out.

But does it work with SKIP?

This is why ssh is so popular. It just works, and you don't need to be a
kernel hacker to port it to a new platform.
