FW-1's Failover Gateway....

I will install FW-1's Failover gateway soon but I do have some doubts,

	first, I have a router network (+50 routers) and I am using default
gateway in the routers to route my Internet packets to internal port of
FW-1,if I install Failover gateway what should I do in the routers to
make them route packets to Failover Gateway in case FW-1 fails...How do
they talk to each other or to the router? giving a second default
gateway with a different metric count, would this solve the problem???
Basically my question if FW-1 fails how the packets will be forwarded to
Failover Gateway in a router network?????
