I love it. Here, for your perusal is another pilot fish, who, while still feeding on the parasites which attack the whale, dreams of a "perfect" world in which there are no whales, or parasites.

The solution to the whole class of macro viruses is to disable automatic
execution of macros in documents. Ideally, Microsoft would do this, but
unlike people in the shareware industry who actually care about their
users (for example, the quick response by Aladdin to the Ghostscript
problem) it's unlikely they'd take such a drastic step any time soon.

Luckily one of our own list members has the solution.

CUE: Padgett, and his lovely little word macro lister/blocker, MacroList.

(I'd provide more info but my copy points to http://www.netmind.com/~padgett/
 which seems to have vanished)
