It's trying to reach a Microsoft server on the internet - the purpose is to
inform that server of what software you're running, the registration
numbers of the software, machine type, memory, hard disk capacity etc. All
the regular SMS stuff.
And I know it's true - I heard of this firsthand in the
alt.rumours.and.conspiracies conference. BTW, did you know that JF Kennedy
was killed by the aliens known as greys? I think Bill Gates is one too...
