Hello -
I have recently installed the (relatively) new Gauntlet for the 6.2 IRIX
OS on an SGI and all went quite nicely EXCEPT that I cannot get incoming
mail for the internal (behind the firewall) domain past the firewall
itself.
The firewall seems to be working fine sending mail to the outside world
from the internal machines. But instead of routing incoming mail to the
internal mail hub, the darned firewall (or rather the sendmail that is
running on the firewall) looks to see if the firewall machine has a user
account on itself (ie in the firewall's /etc/passwd) for the addressee
and if it does, it dumps the mail there (/var/mail/<username>). If it
does not, it bounces it.
Has anyone heard of a bug like this with Gauntlet for IRIX 6.2? Can
someone please give me the name of a sendmail/SGI/Gauntlet consultant
who I could hire to take a look at the sendmail.cf file since the
prospect scares the bejeezus out of me? (I am desperately sorry if it's
against the rules of this list to seek consultants for hire - please
ignore this part of my request if I've broken protocol. I didn't see
anything warning against this, but I've never seen anyone ask for this
before either, so I'm a little nervous.)
Thank you kindly for any assistance,
Kris Nolan
