E-mail viruses -can- be on-topic, since some firewalls attempt to 
deal with them, and the subject is actually dealt with (though
that entry is well out-of-date in the light of current trends) in the
FAQ. However, the subject is particularly prone to topic drift,
and even I (more of a virus person than a firewalls person) am a 
little sick of it. But not as sick as I am of hoax virus alerts.
I don't think there is a simple filtering solution to them, and
the subject is rarely noticeably  on-topic. At least laptop security
is a little bit novel.......
