Are there problems by Windows NT server?

Hallo everybody,
By Unix servers: if a cgi-script does not filter the signs
(.),(,)(;)(/)(!), there could be problems if a user gives unix commands
to steal system files or so on.
Are there the same problems or other by a Windows NT server?
