Timestep provides systems that do hardware encryption and also have a
box the has both Timestep hardware encryption and the Checkpoint
Firewall-1 module on a single box. This box would probably work well
for smaller sites that do not need both systems separately. I have not
seen a statistics on the box yet, but I would expect that there would be
some performance degradation if the box was used for a larger company to
do both encryption and firewall jobs.

Subject: hardware encrypters
I was looking at Isolation Systems web pages. They have a
hardware based
encrypter that is being touted as a good method of getting both
a firewall
and a VPN solution between remote offices.
Does anyone know of any other companies who sell or manufacture
hardware
or software VPN solutions for comparision?
Any thoughts on Isolation Systems products? Send an email
directly to me if
you do not want to post to the mailing list.
