I really have no idea. I hadn't paid any attention to ``certification''
before, at least in fast-changing fields, so I hadn't thought to ask
about it.

However, I think personally identifying that someone is what you want
isn't that hard. To a first approximation, they have to be able to
convince you that they can and will teach you something about security.
That will narrow it down to the people you want, plus maybe some
highly-skilled liars. Then check references.
