My trouble is how to set up so that Demime will act on all emails destined for a Mail2Forum import script called: m2f_import_msgs.sh (the .sh file just calls a .php file, as far as I can tell) Some examples which may help you :- Here is an example of how I am already piping elsewhere using demime on my Exim and Sendmail hosting: abc@xyz.com: "|/home/incel/www/demime.pl '|/home/incel/www/mailgust/dbcron.pl 18'" Here is an example of a successful pipe to my Mail2Forum import script without using demime :- abc@xyz.com: |php -q /home/incel/www/interactive/m2f/m2f_import_msgs.sh And below are 2 unsuccessful attempts at using demime in a pipe with the M2F import script; below each one is part of the mail delivery error which is sent out. I haven't yet looked at the demime program's code itself, as I don't know enough on these issues. abc@xyz.com: |/home/incel/www/demime.pl |/home/incel/www/interactive/m2f/m2f_import_msgs.sh Can't fork |/home/incel/www/interactive/m2f/m2f_import_msgs.sh off of MAIL0: Permission denied at /home/incel/www/demime.pl line 361, line 68. abc@xyz.com: |/home/incel/www/demime.pl - |/home/incel/www/interactive/m2f/m2f_import_msgs.sh positional parameter |/home/incel/www/interactive/m2f/m2f_import_msgs.sh specified after - already specified at /home/incel/www/demime.pl line 70. The permissions should be ok because I am already running both scripts fine, both from the same hosting account as this current attempt. Good news though; your reply and another elsewhere probably combined to inspire me to try the following pipe which appears to work, although as always I don't know why: (showing it here in context, in my exim filters file rather than as an alias) if $header_to: contains "test@incelsite.com" and $header_Reply-To: contains "test@incelsite.com" then pipe "/home/incel/www/demime.pl '|php -q /home/incel/www/interactive/m2f/m2f_import_msgs.sh'" finish endif I was starting to wonder if there are issues regarding demime being a perl script and the import script being php, but luckily apparently not. thanks, lee Bob Leigh wrote: > >First, try using the quoting syntax that works for demime in your example, >like this: > >abc@xyz.com: "|/home/incel/www/demime.pl '|/home/incel/www/interactive/m2f/m2f_import_msgs.sh'" > >Also, you might want to check that the account which is running demime does >indeed have permission to access the second script, "m2f_import_msgs.sh". > > -- A perfect internet companion: LEE'S FREE MUSIC STATION Example recent playlist HERE From list-managers-owner@greatcircle.com Mon Jun 20 23:47:52 2005 X-Original-To: list-managers@greatcircle.com Received: from www-s34d2.ununetworks.com (www-s34d2.ununetworks.com [66.36.228.29]) by mycroft.greatcircle.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id CF6B732C1FA for ; Mon, 20 Jun 2005 23:47:44 -0700 (PDT) Received: from host81-151-217-83.range81-151.btcentralplus.com ([81.151.217.83]) by www-s34d2.ununetworks.com with esmtpa (Exim 4.43 (FreeBSD)) id 1DkcXy-000PUx-6J; Tue, 21 Jun 2005 02:47:46 -0400 Received: from 127.0.0.1 (AVG SMTP 7.0.323 [267.7.9]); Tue, 21 Jun 2005 07:47:57 +0100 Message-ID: <42B7B81D.3060106@btinternet.com> Date: Tue, 21 Jun 2005 07:47:57 +0100 From: lee User-Agent: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.2 (Windows/20050317) X-Accept-Language: en-us, en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: demime-l@scifi.squawk.com, list-managers@greatcircle.com Subject: Demime and Text Removal Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="------------020602060803040006030704" X-AntiAbuse: This header was added to track abuse, please include it with any abuse report X-AntiAbuse: Primary Hostname - www-s34d2.ununetworks.com X-AntiAbuse: Original Domain - greatcircle.com X-AntiAbuse: Originator/Caller UID/GID - [0 0] / [26 6] X-AntiAbuse: Sender Address Domain - btinternet.com X-Source: X-Source-Args: X-Source-Dir: X-Archive-Number: 200506/4 X-Sequence-Number: 1850 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------020602060803040006030704 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit hello everyone, I find demime very useful partly for its demime_junkmail.cf setup, which I use to try to remove old mail list footers as well as webmail advertising. However, does anyone know of a free program whose main/sole purpose is doing this kind of text removal? I haven't managed to find one as yet. I ask because I have never managed to fully understand the regular expressions needed by demime's text matching/removal, and I wonder if a program specialising in this might be easier to set up. Currently, I know that my junkmail_cf file is pretty inefficient in my rather random attempts to code it, even though I have tried to read up on regular expression techniques. Alternatively, if nobody knows of such a program, I would be very grateful if anyone confident with the above skills would be willing to look at and streamline/improve my current demime_junkmail.cf file. hello everyone,

I find demime very useful partly for its demime_junkmail.cf setup, which I use to try to remove old mail list footers as well as webmail advertising.
