Why would someone create a competing list? Because an advertiser or two might
be willing to pay them to run the list. If a listowner is doing their list as
a labor of love and their time is so valuable, then it would be logical to give
up the list if someone else is willing to take on the duties. After all, if
the listowner's time is so precious that they don't want any added list-related
responsibilities and/or correspondence, then let it go to someone who's going
to do with with a smile on their face.
