I and several others stated our reasons. We don't want others to
profit from our efforts and our subscribers' efforts. Those who
volunteer to produce and maintain the content, are entitled to decide
how their content will be used.

There are many other potential negative outside influences which could
have a negative impact on a mailing list. In the interest of clarity,
I choose to address only the topic at hand. Do you really want to
tackle every potential unwanted influence?
