Recently there have been several messages concerning the SMTP gateway
implementation on ANS InterLock. To facilitate header remapping we
previously required that the mail from: line include a domain name.

Over the past several months, all new InterLocks included support for the empty
reverse path (mail from: <>). Several existing sites have already been
upgraded and the remainder will get this capability as part of the next
release.

We believe that no additional security risks are introduced by
supporting the NULL "from" line.

Questions regarding this upgrade can be sent to interlock @
 ans .
 net .
